Making a global impact
Volunteering in Nepal, on the outskirts of Kathmandu in the Kopan Monastery. We treated a good portion of the hundreds of Monks and Nuns and Monastery workers. Dr George Manos from Adelaide set up the clinic six years ago and has been steadily improving it every year. What he has achieved there is nothing short of amazing, it was a privilege to work there and to meet him. Pictured is Brisbane dentist Shiromani, Perth therapist Jamie, and Katie, dental nurse from Adelaide, all wonderful people - Dr Nathan
It’s day three off the south coast of Papua New Guinea- with YWAM, an Australian Aid organisation with medical, ophthalmic, and dental teams. We’ve treated our patients in a well equipped clinic on board- they’re transported from the villages in the ship’s smaller zodiac boats. I’m looking forward to tomorrow where I’ll be doing basic surgery in a remote village where there is boat access only. - Dr Nathan
